Tarkington, Booth: Penrod (and) Penrod and Sam. May 2007
These two books are so funny. Tarkington was a great humorist and in these books captured boyhood very well. He uses Hyperbole superbly in the style that I've often suspected influenced Patrick Mcmanus and other humor writers. I've enjoyed these books so much and have read them more than once through the years. This afternoon I started to read a little of a version I downloaded from Manybooks. Then realized I HAD to do a decent job with it. So.. Spent 30 minutes (I'm getting quicker) Linking chapters and combining both books into one e-file. Highly recommended!
