Tolino Vision Android

"The frequently leaked Tolino Vision ereader officially launched today in Germany" according to this post.

From the specs of the device, seems it resembles Kobo Aura, like the previous one, Tolino Shine, resembles Kobo Touch.

I wonder if there is an internal SD card (as opposed to a fixed chip of memory) so we can use its (maybe newer) Android version for the Kobo equivalents.

No, there is no CD card inside Aura - https://apps.fcc.gov/eas/GetApplicat...tml?id=2020874
So the only hope is dualboot. I've tried dualboot for Aura HD on Aura - does not work, but does not brick Aura ether.

Yes, someone did compare the Shine.
This is why (after some work from some great people) we have now Android on Touch, Glo and Aura HD.

Well, it is like Aura 6"
From the info at this site, looks like there is no internal SD card.
That means no newer Android for kobo.
Oh well ...

Why not? It would be sufficient to capture an update for this particular device, or doing a system dump from within android, after it gets rooted.
Most android phones (if any) don't have an internal SD card, nonetheless their software gets ported across other models.

I think the concern is that if anything goes wrong, there is NO means of recovering.

I think there nothing can get wrong - nickel is hardwired into internal SD card. Dual boot works - sort of - prevents device to boot from internal SD and forces it to boot from external SD (I' tried it myself). The point is that there is no good external Android soft to boot. Androids in external SD for Aura HD and Glo are not booting Aura, but nether destroying internal SD. After hard reset device booting to internal nickel.

This idea is great.I've been wondering about that even before the official release of onyx t68...I really wish this will be done. I am looking forward to see progress. I'd donate to that.
