Fictionwise - Bestseller List
Am I missing something or has Fictionwise' NYT $9.99 best seller list disappeared? Has it moved elsewhere on the page and I am just not seeing it, was there an announcement of some sort or are they just revamping it do you think?

For some reason it seems to come and go from the main page for me. Sometimes it is there and sometimes it is not. Usually, it is not there the specific times I am looking for it.

It seems Fictionwise was busy changing its NYT bestseller program, hence the disappearing act. I now see that the icon is replaced with a giant ribbon and instead of $9.99 books it is now 100% rebate. This is a mixed blessing since you have to pay full price up front. Generally I feel that I will end up spending the micropay eventually so who cares but I realize I now have $200 of micropay mostly because I keep prioritizing my purchases this way... Must start spending micropay...

The first book on the list (Dean Koontz's Frankenstein Book 1) is a better deal than the old $9.99. It is $6.79 with a 100% rebate.
Two out of the first five are less than $10 and five out of five are less than $20 (the 100% rebate is like 50% off to me, if you do the math you should come up with the same). |

Oh, that switch is a bummer I have way too many micropay dollars to start adding to them and I'd usually browse that list as a good place to balance them out.
Also, huh, they don't list the actual prices on the page right now, which is odd. Last edited by rixte; 09-01-2009 at 04:21 PM. |

The problem with Fictionwise is yes, I get micropay rebate, but I have no real way to spend it.

I use my micropay dollars for multi-format (DRM-free) books. That way I am encouraging the drm-free released books.
