Fantastic Fiction website
I cannot seem to access fantasticfiction.co.uk any more. Does anyone have insight on them? They have always been such an important resource for finding series information on authors. Plus just seeing bios etc. is great.

Snap but don't panic yet, it's not in the least unusual for sites to vanish for varying amounts of time... could be anything from servers down to reorganisation to DDoS attack... just try tomorrow...

I wondered that possibly with the new Calibre plugin capabilities if we had overwhelmed or annoyed them.

Just checked and it's fine for me. Perhaps a routing problem from your ISP? Try doing a "tracert" to it.

Weird... it'd be quite a routing problem as leep is in the US and I'm in the UK... and we're definitely not using the same ISP... still, no need to worry for a few days, these things usually fix themselves as far as we're concerned (though probably lots of work at the other end)...

Interesting. I'm ending up at a site called "cloudfront.net" in Dublin. You appear to be going somewhere completely different!

Any way to direct the route to end up at a specific server?

No, I'm afraid not. I'm sure it'll sort itself out in a few hours - these things generally do.

I end up at the "s145526024.websitehome.co.uk (87.106.28.209)" just like Leep... except that the site is still working just fine for me -- here in the eastern US.
I imagine it will sort itself out eventually. Probably some cached routing tables that haven't quite updated somewhere. |
