Conversion Reverts Changes

This has happened a few times now with different books.

Today's case, I edited the text-indents and created a toc. (Manually, not auto-generated.) When I converted to AZW3, the new file had the old text-indents and the toc was gone.

When I tried EPUB --> MOBI, the text-indents were fine, but the toc was gone again.

Re-importing the edited EPUB fixed it - I could convert it, and the text-indents and toc came through perfectly. But does anyone know why this happens and how to prevent it? It only happens very occasionally, but it's come up more than once, and if there's some simple preventative I'd like to set that up.

Most likely it will be because you have ORIGINAL_EPUB in your book record. That is used in preference to EPUB when present for conversion. You can disable generation of it via Prefrences->Tweaks

Or if you have the original epub outside of Calibre and backed up, you can delete the Calibre ORIGINAL_EPUB. That's what I do.

Would that be ID: save_original_format? Because I would still very much like it to make the ORIGINAL_EPUB, just not prioritise it for conversion.

Can we please have an option to not use the ORIGINAL_EPUB so that the only way to use it is to restore it?
