Jaibroken kindle K4 unable to connect to WiFi

Hi friends,

I was meddling with the scripts in the onlinescreensaver pkg, as they don't work out of the box for K4.

Everything WiFi (including ssh) was working delightfully until... something. My guess was setting DISABLE_WIFI=1, which calls `lipc-set-prop com.lab126.cmd wirelessEnable 0`.

I ended up making a KUAL script to call a `lipc-set-prop com.lab126.cmd wirelessEnable 1`, restarted, and tried to connect, but still no good.

Interestingly, my router _thinks_ that I'm connected. It sees the client attach successfully, but the 4.0 f/w gives a "Unable to Connect to Wi-Fi Network" pop up, and asks to either enter the password again or "setup network."

asserting the above cmd even works by writing to a file, e.g. "echo enabling wireless... >> /mnt/us/debug.log"
different wifi network
restarting

Something obvious must be up.

Ideas?

Has anyone experienced this failure mode? If so, how did you recover from it? I do see some sibling threads about using wpa_client to attempt connections, although those are mostly for WEAP connections.

I am resisting tinkering further in hopes that other pro™ users whom may have experienced a similar failure mode may have knowledge on how to transition out of "not-connected" to "connected". I read that a factory reset can be hazardous too based on what f/w you're on and which jailbreak method was used (I used the "usual K4 JailBreak" on 4.0).

Lastly, if you're such a pro™ kindle hacker, let me know if there are logs I can extract off of the usbms to try and see why the handshake failed. Sadly, ssh over USB hasn't been working from my mac--I had to go straight to wifi ssh to my kindle. I will try and recover my linux box to ease troubleshooting.
