The following are what I have listed as changes in 4.40.23081
Again, note that this firmware is only for the Libra Colour, Clara Colour and Clara BW. |

Do these updates roll out over time? I just got my Libra Colour this week, checked for an update and it says I'm up to date on 4.39.23027.

As an alternative, you can install it manually (see this forum for details on how to do that). |

Pretty disappointing update. B&W greyscale images in Kepub/Epub are still displayed with awful banding unless you pinch zoom them to get a proper refresh. (Colour images have the same problem, but is much less noticeable unless looking for it.) Also still lots of ghosting on images, can clearly still see text as a white shadow.

Will patching work without modification (compared to prior version)?
From the list of changes hardly seems worth installing, at least on my Clara BW on which I don't read manga. |

The few patches I tested worked. As for whether or not you install the update, that is up to you. For me, the cert update made this update worthwhile. And please note, that the list of changes is simply what I know about.

I cracked the patches open yesterday alongside the firmware files with 4.40 and so far many work but a few have different offsets yet again (notably the ComfortLight patch, and some of the header/footer patches). I could make a quick list of the patches that fail on 4.40 a little bit later.

I patched mine on Sunday and installed this firmware. I can't live without both page buttons go next and a few other bits. All worked for me. I can't say I have noticed any difference in this firmware.
I downloaded the new firmware and installed it on my Libra Colour. Then copied the downloaded firmware into the correct folder in the patch structure and just renamed the zip file to that of the old firmware I previously used to patch and reran the patch file, as explained by Slantybard here : https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...77&postcount=6 Sent from my SM-S921B using Tapatalk |
