Audio and video files support in Calibre
Dear Friends,
It would be useful if audio and video files are supported in future updating of Calibre to make Calibre server not only a e-book management system but also a digital content server. Thank you for Calibre 3. Thank You Shijo Thomas |

You can store any file you want in Calibre. It won't do much with it, but it'll store it, and you can edit metadata, etc, just as you would for a book.

You can most definitely use Calibre to store media files. I use it to store movies, TV shows, audio lectures, etc.
What it will do: Store the files. Allow you to use Calibre's library management features as you would with books. Allow you to play them with whatever software is associated with their file types on your computer. What it won't do: Play them with any internal Calibre viewer. Serve them to another computer or a media device. If all you want to do with it is manage the files and play them on the same computer, Calibre works great. |
