Instructions for patching firmware 4.14.12777
This patch thread is for firmware 4.14.12777 (5ef5fd856f6526f4729fd0afef0e61a1b5f03d3a).

Instructions for patching on Windows, Linux, or macOS with kobopatch:
  1. Download the firmware from here.
  2. Download and unzip kobopatch_4.14.12777.zip from here.
  3. Copy the original firmware you just downloaded into the kobopatch src folder.
  4. Install the firmware on your kobo BEFORE proceeding with the next steps.
  5. Enable patches in the files in the src folder (or use the overrides in kobopatch.yaml to keep your options separate).
  6. Run kobopatch.bat on Windows, or kobopatch.sh on Linux.
  7. If the patching succeeded, a file named KoboRoot.tgz will be created in the out folder. Copy it to the .kobo folder of your device.
  8. Safely remove your device.

v49 (2019-06-09): New "ePub uniform font scale" patch (GeoffR).
v46 (2019-05-12): Updated missing 24 line spacing values fixed/adjustable margins patches (GeoffR).
v45 (2019-05-09): Initial release for 4.14.12777.

Missing patches:
- Disable wishlist (causes really unusual side effects)

Patches for other files:
- None yet

Notes about this firmware version:
- New parental control feature: [FeatureSettings] -> ParentalControls=true

New patches in this version:
- Redid "Remove recommendations (row1col2) from home screen", moved to libnickel (geek1011)

Do you want a patch that will override any font settings in the book or from the Kobo GUI with your chosen font-family and font size so every book is displayed with the same font and font-size? Going to be a bit messy when chapter headers, drop caps, etc. all have the same font size as body text. Do you want a patch that would edit your epubs to change any font-family and font size settings to your chosen options which given your use of "bulk change" sounds more likely but is beyond the reach of patches that reside on the Kobo ereader.

And, BTW, there is a thread in the stickies at the top of the page when you clicked on Kobo Developer's Corner called kobopatch request thread devoted to patch requests.

This time, I activated for my Kobo Touch (A), for the first time, the "Set swipe to unlock" patch, but nothing happens when the device is in sleep mode and I'm wiping on the screen.
Did I misunderstand something in the function of this patch? Or does it simply not work for Kobo Touch?

The swipe to unlock happens after waking the device. On the Touch, you still need to use the switch to wake it, then do the swipe. It isn't very useful for the Touch. It is more for the devices with a more sensitive or exposed power button.

On my Aura One, it still leaves

"Browse fiction, romance, biography and more
CATEGORIES"

At the bottom of the screen, which still takes you right to the Kobo Store if you are connected to Wifi. So, at least on the Aura One, the new "feature" is not very useful at the moment.
