Free Puffin browser app gives you US IP-address location
This week the free Puffin browser app was added to the Nook app store.
This is a browser that uses cloud computing. As the data centers are in the US, this means when using this browser your NC or NT has an US IP-address. The specifications of the app even warn about the fact that your geo-location will be US. This is nice for us outside the US, who do not have an US credit card. This means that if you use the Puffin browser to go to the B&N website, and you login, that you can buy ebooks without needing a US VPN. I tried this with one paid ebook, and it worked fine. Of course you still have to register your B&N account with an US shipping and billing address. Last edited by geertm; 01-07-2012 at 12:37 PM. |
