Kobo sage battery report
Hi guys and gals,
About the Sage, I'm quite inclined to get one but I'm very reticent about the battery life. Besides the discussion on the main thread, I'd like to have a real follow up on the battery life as experienced by the people o actually have one through the time coming. My benchmark (reading time) with full charges (with the Glo, Clara and currently a Libra H20) is Manga - 20-40 hours Books - 40-80 hours Not really intersted in longevity with audiobooks or notetaking myself but it may be relevant for others that come across this thread. If the target above is not met, I'm simply not getting a sage Thank you all! Last edited by Fozkas; 11-24-2021 at 04:07 PM. |

Still, as much as I can tell, my Sage gets nowhere near 40 hours of battery life. That's with wifi off, frontlight at level 8 and the full refresh set to every page. Last edited by Sirtel; 11-24-2021 at 04:12 PM. |

Totally forgot about those, shame on me. My usual usage: Wifi and sync off Frontlight max 10% on half the reading time Auto confort light on Refresh every 6 pages (every page on manga) Thanks! |

Yeah, no 40 hours, that's certain. I'm not sure you can get even half of it. If you want long battery life, the Sage is not for you.

I spotted this YouTube video on the topic of Sage battery life just this morning, may be helpful to those wondering.

In theory the battery of larger displays without backlight should last longer than smaller ones because you turn pages less frequent, right?

Forma is better as an ereader. It's lighter and far better battery.
Sage might have some nearly negligible display improvement, but the added weight is real, and the battery life in pure reader mode being significantly worse make it overall worse. |

I really considered it, but being so old a device (comparatively) i have some reservations.

I kind of figured that when I saw the Sage's specs and the size of the battery. It didn't seem like a good combination. Reminds me of the original Oasis.

Oh well. I guess I'll just have to plug the Sage in again tonight, when I get home. |

So what is up with the availability of that power cover? Did they not produce enough? Or did some large firm buy all of them? Or was there some kind of battery failure? Or was the CEO sleeping while on the toilet? |

But of course I don't actually know. Maybe someone broke into their warehouse and ate the covers. |
