Koreader crash on screen saver folder?
If one uses pictures in a folders as screen saver, koreader will crash after a couple of on and off?
Works perfectly fine if one puts screen saver on book cover, message etc etc.. |

I have this feature enabled on my Kinlde without crashes.
What is the folder it is set to? What are the pictures there? Show your koreader/crash.log please. |

The folder is /mnt/us/documents/screensaver
it's have 100+ png images. I guess from the crash log, koreader doesn't support png? However, sometime the png images does show and it works as usual |

There might be a couple of badly encoded and/or corrupted images in there.
The trace is not helpful at telling you which one(s), though . |

That should be pcalled though.
@PeopleHunnting If you browse to the folder you'll see pretty quickly which one won't render with a thumbnail. |

@Frenzie: Oh, duh', yeah .
(The MuPDF stuff is pcalled, it's the Image stuff down the line that doesn't cope with the decode possibly failing ). |

This does seem to be a bug or something. My Libra 2's Koreader crashes to the panic screen when choosing "Random image from screensaver folder" (even if there's only a single image there) but not when choosing that specific image for "Specific image from screensaver folder".
Choosing "Stretch covers and images to fit screen" seems to fix it, even though it's not required for specifically choosing single images, for some reason. And the image shows up with a proper thumbnail on the image selection interface of Koreader, so it's not malformed. Which is why I think it's a bug with the "random screensaver" code Update: Never mind, the “Stretch” option didn’t fix it. Just had it crash again. Also crashes if you choose book covers for screensaver, but mark a particular book as “exclude cover from screensaver” and then lock the screen. Same logs as OP Last edited by mbrisco; 06-11-2022 at 09:40 AM. |

I missed the previous reply.
For the "browser the folder" test, make sure you're showing hidden files/folders, too, as I'm not entirely sure the ScreenSaver thingy wouldn't pick those up. ... and if you're on macOS, that might include resource forks, which could easily cause this sort of issues... |
