convert .pages to epub

I can't find this in search. I have a Mac and create documents in Mac's Pages app. Is there any way Calibre can convert this format into epub like it does the Docx format?

(Currently I save my pages documents to docx before importing to Calibre, but that means I have to keep track on the Mac of which documents have been converted and make sure they match).

No calibre has no support the pages format.

Thanks, I thought this might be a pretty obscure need. I'll just keep using my convert to docx work around. Appreciate everyone's hard work on Calibre!

An extra Save As in docx works best for Open Office or Libra Office compared to odt, which is supported.

Consider migrating to LO Writer on the Mac. I moved to it from MS Word.

Thanks, I have used LO Writer on my old Windows machine. I have been trying to use the Mac supplied apps on my new Mac unless I find a good reason to switch to a non Mac supplied app. I think I'll give LO Writer a try on the Mac.

Just because the programs are from Apple does not mean they are the best choice to do whatever it is they do. Look into other rpograms to see if something else may be better.

Pages is awful so almost anything else is going to be better.

One thing I found is that LO Writer will not automatically underline web addresses unless you use their non docx format (which defeats the whole purpose for me changing). I'm going to look for other alternatives to word and pages.

@peaceridge - why don't you store the Pages files in the calibre library book folders. Then you'll have the .pages, the .docx exported from Pages, and the .epub from calibre DOCX->EPUB convert in the same place.

Added: I am not a Mac user… so I don't know for sure this will work; but it does work on Windows. I sometimes stumble upon .rtf files (Wordpad) of public domain documents, which I convert to .docx using Word, which get calibre converted to .epub. All three formats are stored in the same calibre library book folder.

Pages will export ePub directly.

Edit LO Writer using ODT
Extra Save As in docx, but never open it in LO Writer.

Working for 10 years. No issues with hyperlink formatting.

Never edit using docx in LO Writer. You can read a docx, and that is converted. It needs saved in odt and then cleaned up, which is also the case with MS Word using a file from a much different version of MS Word.
Been using Word for Windows since 2.0a. Regularly used Office 4.3, 95, 97, 2000, 2002/XP, 2003 (only one that works on WINE) and 2007. I've used other versions of Word.

Win3.x, Win9x, NT 4.0, XP, Win7, Win 10.

Yes, but it makes a mess of them. Fine converting to docx. Calibre does a great job of converting docx to epub.

Thanks, but if I have to go through that conversion, I might as well stick with Pages and go through that conversion since I've got Pages formatting the way I want. Although, if I decide I want to do some studying, I might try your way just for something new.
