iRex DR1000 Development VMWare Image
I have created a VMWare image of Ubuntu setup with what you need to get started porting/developing on the iRex DR1000.
You can download the image from one of the mirrors below: Code:
Filename: DR1000DevImage.tar.bz2 Filesize: 1.350.759.956 bytes MD5: 67aaee460ad668644575581fbac2aab0
Username: user Password: password How to use: Download VMWare Player or Server: http://www.vmware.com/download/player/ Install player, and open virtual machine. It should start and run without problems. You'll use Anjuta to compile applications and you can deploy and test them in the qemu emulator. Hello_World is already on there, so you can use that for testing. |

Thank you Adam, you rock.
As my intro to DR1000 development, I decided to port Leafpad, a simple text editor. See the post on the iRex forums. Now all I need is a physical keyboard that plugs into the little port on the bottom of the device. |

Hi,
one question: what's the root password for the ubuntu installation in the image? ('password' does not work for me) |

Does this image have the 2.0 sources and if so is it workable for the DR800 as well?

In section 3.2.1.2 the intltoolize step is missing, you need to execute it to have a proper makefile in the /po-directory. Source code for the firmware is here. (Although the firmware is called 2.0, the SDK/Sources for the latest software are in the 4.0 directory.) The default configuration for the emulator in the SDK is DR800. |
