Just suppose
Just suppose I've got the mobipocket decoder program which must not be named to work, and have run a couple of my DRM'd books through it apparently successfully. How do I confirm that the books no longer are DRM'd?

Attempt to open the book in a reader which does not support Mobi DRM, of which there are many - eg FBReader, uBook, to name but two which are available for the PC.

It isn't necessarily definitive, but the python script kindledrm also works on modern MOBI ebooks. It tells you if the ebook is DRM-free by looking at a 2-byte integer in the header that indicates the presence of DRM. See Kindle Books From Amazon Without DRM. It will return NOT MOBI for old-style mobipocket PRC files though.

Thanks to you all. I think I'll follow Harry's advice since I'm not yet ready to try more Python, and I only have one Cybook.
