Macdonald was a great old devotional writer. This is a great example of his homespun wisdom and deep devotion. A Novel about a Character who loses all, then finds all that's worth finding in rediscovering the joyous and loving Heart of God.
Whenever anyone in our family does something especially kind or loving we say, "So.. You are trying for the Sir Gibbie award then huh?" (Plus I had to beat Bookbinder to the punch!)
