updates.irexnet.com down / where to download firmware?

Hello,

I hibernated for a while and now decided to upgrade my DR1000S to 2.0RC3 from 1.7.1 to be able to read .epub .

updates.irexnet.com looks down and forever swallowed in black hole...
(dig on irexnet.com returns 80.255.245.71 but is as silent as a grave)

I can't seem to find the file update-dr1000s-rc3.zip anywhere on the internet.
(google, bing, file search, torrent, newsgroups, yandex, e2k, internet archive)

Is there a charitable soul who could point me to a mirror/link or share it on this thread?

Happy reading,
macallowey

I see in the "wuaka link" a link to "rc4new" (Release candidate 4?) for DR800S.
Is that correct?
I do not remember an official release candidate 4 for DR800S.
Someone tested it?
Thank you!

It's an official update of the firmware...
It was never published, because the company went bankrupt in June 2010.

I've added the DR800 changelog file on the share.

Please note that the feature that really shuts down the device is irreversible.
Rather than finding the device completely drained when I didn't use it for a few weeks, it still had some charge left.
In the original "user perceived off" mode, the reader will "boot" very quickly, but will also drain the power when your not using it. I find it a big improvement... except when I haven't used it for just a bit longer than 24 hours... then it will have to reboot completely.

Could I ask you how did you get it?

Wow, thanks a lot, I didn't think that after all this time such a useful update would still come our way ...
Even though I am thankful of course, I just hope you did not keep this to yourself since 2010

you can check the version of the "Micro Application" in the device information.
The version number with the "real" shutdown function is : 1.14

To test it:
1) turn off the dr800
2) don't use the reader more than 24 hours
3) turn on the dr800

If it was completely shutdown (and not consuming power), you should see the bootscreen (the guy reading a book, surrounded by circles). This means the feature is working.
If it was not shutdown, the dr800 will show the normal screen immediately. This means the feature is not working. In this case check the micro application version in the Device Information screen.
