Question on the K3 usb connector
Does anyone know if the USB connector on the K3 is the same micro USB that the K1 uses? I ask because my phone and K1 can share the same USB cable, which make it convenient when I want to sync my phone or transfer something over.
Plus, I don't think I have an open USB port left on the back of the computer. |

Yes, it is the same.
EDIT: Strike that - as others have corrected me. Sorry for the confusion. Quote:

Same micro-B USB plug as the K2. Don't know about the K1, but it had a dedicated (proprietary?) power plug, so, not sure.

That's partly why I'm wondering. Funny thing, the K1's power plug also worked with my old Palm Zire. Also the K1's USB cable will charge my HTC Touch Pro 2, so I'm hopeful they'll all work off the same cable, and I won't have to move things around every time I want one or the other connected.

I am pretty sure the K1 had the mini usb, not the micro. But I could be wrong -

You're correct. It also only accepted a trickle charge through USB. It had a separate charger. The USB was intended for data transfer. With the Kindle 2, the device could charge fully through the USB.

ok, so which one is smaller? I ordered a cable from ebay that said it was for the kindle 3, but its too big. It will work with my phone but my kindle has a smaller connector. I have the end that plugs into the wall...just needed the cable part

It sounds as if you've bought a mini-USB cable. You need a micro-USB cable for the Kindle 2 or 3.
