Good to hear that another big-name author has come "on-board" with eBooks.

hm ! i don't read Clancy but i am going to be optimistically very encouraged by the last sentence of that quote :
"Executives Laura Porco of Amazon.com and Chris Smith of Sony Reader said Thursday that Clancy had been in great demand by customers." maybe they are listening to what customers want after all (or they could just be stating that as a totally unrelated, coincidental bit of info of course )... |

There's still no info on this at the Sony site and a search of Tom Clancy there leads to nothing. Hopefully, this will change in the coming few days. Today, Amazon lists 39 titles available for pre-order.

They only post books when they are available for sale. They might do some kind of promo though to get people excited.

Has he actually written 39 books? Or are they including all the "Tom Clancy's <whatever>" books that other people wrote?

Thanks, Nate - I had a feeling it would be. I read a couple of the "whatever" books before I realised that they weren't written by Mr. Clancy. They were pretty dire!

I only know that all 39 titles are listed as "by TOM CLANCY". If "by TOM CLANCY" actually means "possibly TOM CLANCY and/or some ghost writer or other individual whom we designate as TOM CLANCY", I don't know.
