James, M R: After Dark in the Playing Fields, LIT v1, 18 January 2010.
M. R. James [1862–1936]
After Dark in the Playing Fields “After Dark in the Playing Fields” was first published in issue 10 of “College Days,” an Eton school journal, on June 28, 1924. It later appeared in “Collected Ghost Stories” (1931). The story is set in the playing fields of Eton at Midsummer Night’s Eve. Spooky things happen. I’ve now uploaded all the ghost stories published by M R James in his lifetime.
