Hello. I am jkgarner.

I have just acquired (been given) an old Kindle 3 Keyboard Wi-Fi (B0008), which I can not register because 1. it is older and Amazon wants money from me, 2. They claim that I stole it because the previous owner (a family member) has moved a dozen times in the last dozen years and can not remember the accounts or credit card info used to purchase the device. So it's been blacklisted.

I need to jailbreak the device to get better functionality. Running the latest FW 3.4.3 (perhaps I was too fast to update the firmware, but amazon said that latest FW was required to register.!) My biggest takeaway here is not to trust Amazon.

Other than easy loading books, I am interested in having the Kindle display an analog clock while in screensaver. (updating once a minute)

Once a Kindle is blacklisted, it cannot be registered. If you want a registered Kindle, you'll have to purchase a new one.
