Carrot Cake Murder by Joanne Fluke - No Longer Available
Free Carrot Cake Murder by Joanne Fluke in Secure Mobipocket format at Fictionwise!!
This is the 10th book in the Hannah Swenson Cozy Mystery Series. Not sure if it's an error on their part as it's not advertised as being a freebie, but nevertheless, the price is coming up at $0.00 and I was able to download it myself at that price. Download at http://www.fictionwise.com/eBooks/eBook64817.htm Last edited by CheriePie; 03-23-2009 at 06:44 PM. Reason: Changed title since no longer available |

Cool! I've just downloaded it as well. A handy way to try a new author.

You can't. Not directly.
To read secure Mobipocket books, you need to register the PID(s) of your Mobipocket device (PC, Blackberry, Cybook, etc.) with the online store. Then download the book from the shopping cart and it will be encoded with the PID(s) and readable on only those devices. Since the Sony reader doesn't support Mobipocket books, the book is not accessible to that device. For DRM-free Mobipocket books -- as opposed to secure Mobipocket -- you can use Calibre or other software to convert to a format which is supported by the Sony reader. |

Thanks! Got it! I've actually read the first one in the series (from library) but haven't read others yet. The first one was good...just haven't had time to read more.

This is another case of giving away the latest eBook in a series instead of the first one and the series is incomplete as eBooks. So that there is another issue. When will publishers learn that a series needs to be COMPLETE?

Perhaps the answer to your question is when the ebook market is as big as, or bigger than the pbook market. BOb |

Very clever as a commercial point of view : offer the last one as a bait to make buy the others !

Not in this case as all the others are not available. I would definitely purchase the first one if it was available. Not because of this one. But because the series sounds interesting to me. But it's not available. So that's out. That means that the publisher and author lose money as I won't be purchasing any of these books.

Take Discworld for example, the entire series is available and we know that the entires series spans a long time. Longer then this series. So why cannot publisher realize that by having an incomplete series, they lose money?
