Did anyone lay hands on the new Meebook M6C yet?
The Meebook M6 is coming out as the Meebook M6C. The only difference is a color screen.
Did anyone lay hands on the new Meebook M6C yet? What are you first hand opinions about the device? How good is the color screen compared to Onyx Boox devices? Right now the device seems to be sold exclusively by a Chinese store. Any ideas where I can get imports for a fair price? Link: https://goodereader.com/blog/electro...ition-launched |

No doubt it's a Kaleido 3 screen, which is as good as eink ereaders can do. All made by Eink Corp.
150 dpi in pastel at best colour and a pseudo almost 300 dpi mono inferior to the M6. I can't think why the screen would be any different to same screen on an Onyx Boox or Kobo. Suitable for small comics and worse than M6 for novels.a |

I have been looking for reviews on this one but no luck so far. I'm curious how it looks.

It will look like an M6 with a Kaleido 3 screen. See any other Kaleido 3 ereader of similar size.

Devil is in the details. From reviews on internet I saw, it looks like even with same eink screen, there are differences. So I would like to see photos or video of Meebook color.

It's a k3 screen. The system is made by meebook and the refresh quality is the best in k3 device.
The light is a bit leak at the lower edge. Except this one, i think it's a perfect 6inchs k3 device. It also have a bw mode, you can switch it in the menu. |

If you want to read in B&W, don't get a Kaleido 3. Immutable physics, they are inferior to mono eink.
Only good enough colour for comics and 6″ is far too small. Meebook, a niche Chinese maker, can't make the M6C be as good as an M6, and is unlikely to be better than any other Kaleido 3 screen 6″. It's physics. |

The light lost through the CFA can easily be compensated for by the built-in lighting. The optimum resolution of the human eye is one arc minute; this in turn means that at a viewing distance of 50 cm you can no longer see any difference and at 25 cm you can only guess it. And since a viewing distance of less than 25 cm is eye straining for a person with normal vision, it hardly matters. The only problem with Kaleido 3 may be insufficient (strength, uniformity) lighting. It's applied physics for humans. Last edited by ottischwenk; Today at 05:52 AM. |
