How does new member post moderation work?
Apologies if this is covered somewhere else, I couldn't find anything in the Guidelines or FAQ.

When I recently replied to a thread, I got a message that my post is awaiting moderation. Is that moderation by a real live admin, or is that an automatic filter? I would hate for the work I spent in formatting it to go to waste. Is there a way to be notified when a post I make is approved?

Us humans look at them and approve those that look good (meet forum guidelines).
This gan be done at the Forum level: Names at the bottom of the Topics main page.

Unfortunately, there is no mechanism in place to notify you when a moderated post you've made gets approved. But we monitor the moderation queue pretty closely to make sure posts don't languish there too long.

Placing a new member's post in moderation is typically done by an automated algorithm (though posts will also occasionally be manually moderated while discussion takes place among editors/moderators).

Hello,
This is the first thread that showed up when searching for moderators approval.

I have the same problem that my posts are always getting manually approved,
Is there a way to elevate my account to skip this requirement.

Thank you (I checked the afore mentioned faq but only found generic device based information, )

Accounts with weak/leaked* passwords were being hacked by spammers. So existing accounts that hadn't posted for some time (> 1 year, I think) were set to auto moderation status. Your account was one of those. It has since been moved to a normal status, so any current moderation is just from the usual new/low user moderation algorithm, and should pass soon.

* Passwords used on more than one site, and leaked elsewhere.

My posts are still being moderated and I've posted quire regularly recently (after a long break). Dunno what the threshold number of posts is though

If my account is being auto moderated because I had a gap for a while, could it also be put onto normal status please?

AFAIK: the Auto-mod trigger is based on post count, might be reset if a member goes AWOL for a while.
