Walmart Brings the Heat With Its Largest Deals Event Ever

“Walmart Deals” to feature savings on thousands of items across back-to-school, tech, toys, outdoor, travel and more.

BENTONVILLE, Ark., June 24, 2024 — Walmart is announcing its largest savings event ever: “Walmart Deals.” Starting Monday, July 8 at 5 p.m. ET through Thursday, July 11 at 11:59 p.m. ET, customers can shop thousands of deals on popular items from electronics, home, toys, travel and more – including must-have items heading into the back-to-school season. Walmart+ members will have early access to shop the hottest deals of the season beginning at noon ET – five hours before anyone else.

Walmart will have to try a lot harder than their deals week last week if they want their upcoming sale to be worth bothering with. I didn't see anything worth bothering with and I couldn't even use the 20 cents off a gallon of gas at Exxon/Mobile because none of the ones in my area actually participate in it. The fact they didn't include Murphy stations in the discount suggests to me they knew most people wouldn't be able to take advantage of that deal.

Several stores got an early start to this event and I totally missed it (Newegg, Target, Walmart). It looks like the July Black Friday is gonna stretch out into multiple weeks just like the November Black Friday.

Sales look great until you realize that they're designed to only be available for a select customer base and you're not part of it (I'm looking at you Amazon).

The only thing I'm looking for is a $100 Chromebook and since I'm no longer a Prime member, Amazon is out of the picture.

There are some things I'll buy during these sales if the price is lower. Like Yakers and dog poo bags.

The last few years, I've seldom seen anything that makes me go I want to buy that now. The selection and discounts are not what they used to be and the multiple sales through the year make it easier to say that I'll wait for the next sale.

Attention

Sales have already begun (pre-sales, early bird, one day, 4th of July, etc). Stores are once again having sales outside of their official sale dates, just like they do with Black Friday. I missed a couple of large sales already because I thought sales wouldn't begin until July. Silly me.

I won't be posting all of these other sales, there are just too many to keep track of, but I will post some of them. So feel free to post sales I miss.
