I actually remember going into Radio Shack and seeing this. Of course my first computer was a TRS-80 with the optional cassette tape drive.

I spent hours and hours typing an Adventure game into a TRS80, for storage onto the cassette tape. I then spent even more hours deconstructing how the code worked, and writing my own "adventure" scenario using that framework.

You lose your chakram in the dark.
You are likely to be eaten by a Grue. |

Infocom and Scott Adams Adventure ... The two popular text adventure brands for the TRS-80. I used to play them when I owned a TRS-80 Model I.

I still play adventure games (generally called "interactive fiction", these days, even though Jon disapproves ) on my Pocket PC. Infocom interpreters are available for pretty much every hardware platform.

I'm playing this really long RPG game now called "Cubicle" where you go back and forth between boxes trying to earn a paycheck by pressing little buttons all day. |

Harry,
Ever see the movie Office Space...welcome to the typical AmeriCorp....it sux. It is also one of the reasons I left the AmeriCorps world a couple decades ago for consulting. No more cubicles...ever! But to answer your question...yup...cubicles are pretty much the norm...some designs are more open then others but as a rule it's horrible. |
