De Grey: A Romance [1868] First published in “The Atlantic Monthly,” Volume 22, Issue 129 (July 1868). An early supernatural short story by Henry James. The year is 1820. A young girl enters a widow’s household, falls in love with her son, and resolves to defy the family curse, even at the cost of her own life. However, there is a twist at the end of this Gothic tale. This work is assumed to be in the Life+70 public domain OR the copyright holder has given specific permission for distribution.
