No. Never felt the least bit of a desire to get one. I don't find them aesthetically unpleasant, I just don't want them on myself. Same with jewelry (any kind).

Always wanted one - but I have a needle phobia - so merely toyed with some temporary 'press on' ones in my youth.

I considered getting a tattoo at one time but am very happy that I didn't.

No.
When my kids were growing up I told them they could get whatever tattoos or piercings they wanted. There was only one requirement -- they had to let ME do them. Last I checked, neither one of them had a tattoo or piercing. |

I'm also a nay. I don't care for them generally and then there's the expense and having to live with them forever. Even if I wanted one, I don't see how you decide exactly what to get -- or alternatively, I don't understand the compulsion to have a particular design and being sure it would always resonate with you.

A no from me as well. I find them unpleasant as a concept and they go blue after a few years. As well as the thought of needles - uggh.

According to one poll, 32 percent of American adults have at least one tattoo.
Another says 42 percent. And yet, as of this morning, our poll says zero for fifteen for Mobilereaders. This is unlikely to be a coincidence! So what explains it? Non-American participation might explain a bit of it. YouGov says only about 25 percent of adult Brits are tattood. Age could explain it, if we Mobilereaders are old. When I was young, tattoos were most popular with older men. Now that I’m old (68), it’s mostly the young, and disproportionately women, who are tattooed. |

I think that's the reason. Most active posters on MR are middle-aged or elderly. Very few young people post here regularly; I guess they're more likely to be on some social media platform.

Let’s break the pattern. I've got quite a few substantial tattoos, and not a single regret. More ink is on the horizon. A few are my own designs of tributes to my favorite authors/stories.

I currently have two tattoos, one on each ankle. I do want something on my right lower arm, which I might eventually turn into a full sleeve. I'm not sure yet what I exactly want, something with nature, but not flowers, that isn't my thing.
I'm also planning on getting a septum piercing. I now only have my ear piercings (14), my other ones I had to take out after a couple of years because they tended to get irritated a lot. I'm trying to wait until winter's over for the nose piercing (cold and a healing piercing don't mix well), but I'm tempted to get it sooner. |

I'm an artist for my job and I'm always worried I'll get one and then find issues with it and it will drive me nuts haha. If that wasn't the case I'd prolly have a bunch.

I know younger people who really appreciate them but I’ve never been tempted to get one. I tend to associate them with Popeye.
