0.8.4 new installer too slow

The changes made to the installer to remember past options is just way way way way too slow. It's a lot slower then my setting the options. Can we have the installer back that doesn't remember a thing?

Grump Grump Grump

We have been out voted by those to lazy to click on a Icon and tap "del"
OTOH, I do see an advantage to having it remember a non-default location.

Do what I do. Start the install, the go for a fresh 'cupa'

I agree but as the What's New section states, take your complaints to Microsoft.

These changes could be removed and the installer back to its faster speed. I have no need to take it up with MS. Just get the changes backed off and we'll be fine again.

I prefer the new approach despite the slightly slower installation speed.

I normally use a custom install path and disable the option for a desktop icon, so it is convenient to not to have to remember to do this each time.

It doesn't matter to me either way, I just need to go off to do something else while it is installing, although I am usually mulit-tasking anyway so the additional installation time doesn't bother me.

I agree....perhaps while it is loading, people who are bored could read a book! Or if they get a 'cupa', decaf might be good.
