What Movie/TV Series/Anime Would You Like To See Redone As A Novel
A few years ago I read the Robotech series by Jack McKinney. It is based on the anime series of the same name, with the first 12 books in the series recounting the events of the anime series. There are a total of 21 books in the series.
I'd seen a few episodes of the anime series, and it was just okay to me. Then I read it in book form, and found it vastly better. The author added so much detail that was included in the original anime series. I enjoyed it so much that I quickly read the entire series, with several re-reads of some of the books. With this in mind, what movie/TV series/anime would you like to see redone as a novel? It could be a continuation or a reimagining (like the television update of Battlestar Galactica). For example, it could be a minor series that had potential but it didn't live up to, or didn't have time to develop. For me, one series I'd like to see done this way is "Beyond Westworld." It was a short-lived 1970s TV series that revealed that the robot breakdown disaster shown in the movie "Westworld" was not an accident but part of a plan to take over the world. |

I read 'For the Term of his Natural Life' and didn't like it one little bit.. It didn't seem like a story, more like a film manuscript ...I have downloaded now, and will read it again - see how it goes...

I am still amazed that Firefly has not become a publishing franchise. I know the audience for continuing adventures is out there. And I so loved Steven Brust's My Own Kind Of Freedom.

The main reason the three series were fused together is to give them enough episodes for syndication (the original Macross Saga was only 36 episodes, not enough to syndicate, adding the two other series boosted the episode count to 72). Considering what had to be done to get it released in the U.S. in any form, it could have been much worse. |
