EPUB to iPad error...

I have complied a series of self generated articles into an epub using Sigil. It is not converted from a different format. The ebook looks good on my Note 8, but when a co-worker loads onto an iPad it generates the following error;

Not sure the method he used to load the ebook onto the iPad, though I had emailed it the file to him. The correct title of the ebook is listed at the top.

I do not have an iPad, is there an emulator for windows I can use to test generated ebooks?

Did you embed fonts into the epub when you made it?

Why doesn't my font show up in iBooks?

If you embed a font in your EPUB, iBooks requires a non-standard file in the EPUB to tell it to use your font. This cannot be done in Sigil.

Create a file called com.apple.ibooks.display-options.xml with a text editor and put these lines into it:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<display_options>
<platform name="*">
<option name="specified-fonts">true</option>
</platform>
</display_options>

Then use an archive manager to unzip or access the EPUB file. Add the xml file you created to your EPUB in the META-INF directory, then re-zip your EPUB.

Why is this a calibre question?

In any case, do an epub to epub conversion in calibre on your sigil generated epub and send the result to your co-worker that will most likely fix the issue.

I will do the epub-epub conversion, though why would it solve this particular issue?

Because calibre knows a lot about automatically fixing various things that cause problems in fragile epub consuming software.
