Auto Nooter for NC 1.3 yet?
So I decided to bring my nook back to factory settings, then updated to 1.3 to see if it would be satisfactory to me and after having a rooted (froyo) NC, it is just too blah!
So I want to re-root with gingerbreak and am wondering if they have come up with an auto nooter with good instructions. Really want something stable, so I am willing to wait a while until they come out with a proven auto nooter, but searches on google only show rooting for NC 1.1 or 1.2. Thanks if anyone has info! |

The Manual-Nooter for 1.2 is confirmed to work for 1.3 as well.
Auto-nooter was never released for 1.2 or 1.3 The Manual-Nooter is very easy to use .... it is really just one step more than the auto-nooter process |

The hard part is finding the right instructions. I dug through forum.xda-developers.com for hours.
As I remember it, the process is to create a ClockWorkMod (CWM) bootable SD card, put the ManualNooter zip file on it, boot it, and apply the ManualNooter. Last edited by sjkevin; 09-02-2011 at 11:50 PM. |

The instructions are on a topic in the first page of the Nook XDA page there, it's not hard to find at all.

My Nook got the update today. I didn't have to format or do anything. Just ran the manual nooter and everything was back to normal. Took about 5 minutes. Just re entered my market information.

I did go to the xda website and got the files. But even though the instructions are simple....I still don't follow. Can you just put the sd card in and do nothing like you do for the autonooter or do you have to manually install like you do when you put in cm7.
I just don't want to mess up my NC. Can I still get my people magazine if I root it though? |

No, you have to put the sd card in and when it boots up just go to "install zip from sdcard" then select the zip and let it install.
This is from your bootable sd card. The chances of ruining your nook color are slim to none, and yes the magazines while rooted with the manual nooter. |

Ok.... Thanks for the info. I have always rooted to my NC internal memory snd then wiped my sd card . So first I have to make a bootable sd card or burn Clockwork Recovery to an sd card.
Is there a link for that to refresh my memory? |

This is the post I'm talking about, it's on the front page and tells you EVERYTHING, step by step, follow them TO THE LETTER.

I did it!!! I did make a few mistakes, but everything seems to be working.
I went to the xda website..made a bootable sd card, and transferred the file onto it. Put it in my NC and then followed instructions. Everything seemed to be fine. After the fact though, I forgot to install the second nooter, but I still had the market, though its the old version. In any event, Thanks for your help! |

GREAT!! I don't know if I have the new market, the old one is more stable with the root though from what I've heard
Enjoy your tablet! |
