Dostoyevsky, Fyodor: The House of The Dead, v1.0 26 Aug 2008 (LIT)
Cleaned up copy of the late 19th century translation by Edwards. The cover art is both Ancient and Safe, I believe.

The principal pastime in the classic novel is flogging. How someone could receive 500 to 1500 lashes and then get on with their day is beyond me!
