When eBooks are really bargains

On Thursday, I received an e-mail from Amazon reading: "We've noticed that customers who have purchased or rated books by Jacqueline Lichtenberg have also purchased Nessie and the Celtic Maze (The Nessie Series, Book Three) by Lois June Wickstrom. For this reason, you might like to know that Nessie and the Celtic Maze (The Nessie Series, Book Three) is now available. You can order yours for just $12.99 by following the link below." The link goes to a paperback edition, and a search of the Kindle store shows no books by Wickstrom. Now, that title sounded familiar, so I hopped over to Fictionwise and sure enough, I purchased the multi-format version of the book in August 2008, and it's now selling for $1.18 for non-club members. In fact, to get all three books in paperback you'd pay $34.97, or you can get them from Fictionwise for a grand total of $3.68 and without DRM!

THIS is what readers of electronic books want to see.

Moral of the story: It pays to shop around (Oh, and spend time on MR)

Thanks for sharing.

Good -- they're Young Adult fantasy aimed at the 8-12 year olds. But a fun fast read if you like that kind of stuff.

Thanks for the "shop around" reminder. I've been waiting for the newest Charlaine Harris (Sookie Stackhouse) book to drop to $9.99on Amazon but it hasn't budged in two weeks. Turned out to be cheaper on Fictionwise so I bought it in LIT.
