Epub display issue in iBooks
I have an epub 2.0 exported from InDesign CS5. It displays fine on all reading software except for iBooks.
In iBooks the cover is on the right and you have to turn pages left to right (as opposed to right to left). The only suggested solution I can find for this is https://discussions.apple.com/thread...art=0&tstart=0 but can't go back to the word doc as a lot of work has been done in InDesign. Does anyone know of any other fixes for this? |

There must be some attribute in the ePub that's causing it. You could unzip it and look manually, or edit it in Sigil, or edit it in calibre or do an ePub->ePub conversion in calibre.
Re-importing to InDesign seems like a very poor idea. |

If you've using the Middle East version of InDesign or an OS with RTL support, unzip the .ePub and check whether the following line is present in the .opf file:
Code:
<spine page-progression-direction="rtl" toc="ncx">

Thank you both pdurrant and Doitsu!
I fixed the issue. While neither of the fixes were quite right they certainly pointed me in the right direction! I found that <dc:language> was set to af-SA and I changed it to en-US and that fixed it! Last edited by dortilolma; 12-03-2015 at 07:31 AM. |

I suspect you mean ar-SA, rather than "af-SA". "ar" is the language code for Arabic (and "SA" is "Saudi Arabia") which would result in right-to-left page turn. "af" is "Afrikaans".

I'm very familiar with ISO language and country codes simply because I work with them all day. In my "day job" I work for a company that develops and supports extremely multi-lingual IT systems.
