Corrupt-A-Topic (anymore off-topic and it would be on-topic)
pshrynk has a problem. Well let's say that he has a problem that we can address in a public forum and take positive steps to solve. He has this wish to corrupt things.
Therefore, there are no rules for this thread. The following is merely a suggestion, not a rule (therefore it can be ignored; but, not broken):
Note: I reserve the right to close this thread if it goes sane. |

The birds are singing sweetly in the trees by yon veranda. And I have never ever read the words "something from a fart earlier post" in my life, but that's neither here nor there.

Is there anything better.......
than fair food? Yesterday we went to the Arizona State Fair in Phoenix. Oh, the smells of the food! The weather was perfect, in the low 80's with a breeze blowing. Ate corndogs, curley fries, and kettlecorn. Was way to full for anything else, dang it. Why does food taste so much better at the fair??

Oh, goody. I've been waiting for an opportunity to tell this story. It's from high school.
On the last Saturday in August, I was invited on a trip to the beach. (This was around San Diego.) I had just moved into the area, and it was the first time I had been on a beach in August. I got the most spectacular sunburn. I had second degree burns on everything above the waist, front and back. And that is not an exaggeration. For the first week and a half, the pain was excruciating. But after that I discovered a few interesting side effects. For instance, when skin dies in a large patch, it peel off and what's left behind is supposed to scab over. But I discovered that if the top layer of dead skin doesn't come off, it will form something like a blister. What's even more interesting is that the skin underneath won't stop oozing, so the blister can grow quite large. It was fun, actually, to sit there and squeeze the blister to make it grow. The dead layer of skin pulling away felt something like removing a band-aid. It was close to 2 months (I think) after the trip that I decided to remove all the dead skin at once. (My face had healed enough that I could simply rub the dead skin away.) The largest piece was about 2 square feet. (I offered some to my biology class, but was declined.) |

I once read about the symbolism of the characters of Gilligan's Island. The characters closely match the seven deadly sins.
Professor = pride Ginger = lust Mary Ann = envy Mr. Howell = greed Mrs. Howell = sloth Skipper = gluttony & anger Gilligan = Satan (He does wear red in every episode.) |

Curious about the commode? RI offering residents chance to see what happens after they flush
10-10-2008 5:22 PM PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Associated Press) -- Ever wonder what happens after you yank the chain on the old commode? Rhode Island is offering tours of several wastewater treatment facilities during what its dubbed the first annual "Rhode Island Water Infrastructure Month." Tours of treatment plants this Saturday are in East Providence, Bristol and Narragansett. Other tours and educational programs continue in October. As part of the festivities, the Narragansett wastewater operators team, "Fecal Matters," also will compete in a national latrine-treating skills contest in Chicago against last year's champions, the Rocky Mountain "Commode Commandos." So if any of you are in the area............ |
