Long Pdfs on Older Kindles

How do you deal with long pdfs on older Kindles?

For example, if you have a reference book, and want to go to a later section?

I can switch into Librerator, but don't have many options in the standard pdf software. (I can't switch into Kual, and can't use touchscreen Kindles or tablets due to coordination issues.)

"Go to" lists "page" as an option, but it doesn't work.

"Search" sometimes works, but can fail due to ocr errors/ocr failure.

I usually end up chopping long pdfs into several short pdfs, but it's a mess.

I bought some softare to help convert pdfs into readable epubs. But it crashes every time with a "dyld: missing symbol: _writePNG" error.

I deal with it by reading it on my iPad. The Kindle just isn't (IMHO) the right tool for the job.

I got the used Kindle Dx for this job, because I can't use the other tools for it.

I can't use touchscreen Kindles or [touchscreen] tablets due to coordination issues [and sensory issues]. I don't use the Iriver because the screen's too small for pdfs. I can't use the Macbook for extensive reading because of the ergonomics and my rsi.
