The Middle Years First Published, 1893, in Scribner’s Magazine. This is the text of the New York Edition, 1909. A short story. A middle-aged and very sick writer has just finished a book called “The Middle Years.” He longs for a second chance to revise mistakes in his work and his life. Will it be forthcoming? This work is assumed to be in the Life+70 public domain OR the copyright holder has given specific permission for distribution.
