Lurking, now introducing
Hi all!
My name is John, and have always had that reading habit....magazines, books, even hardbacks when the money was good, or the libraries had them available. I was one of those who ran out of youth books in the small town I lived in, in Central Alberta, Canada. I have another habit....technology....I build computers, run three of them, built two others that others have, and ENJOY using my acer aspire netbook with ubuntu remix lucid (ask someone why) Now comes the great melding of both worlds....E readers! I am but a neophyte, with kindle for PC on my netbooks (yes, even Linux), and my desktop, and kobo on my blackberry. I would have kindle on my phone, but not available in Canada. Now the hard part....just which dedicated device should I buy. Kindle 3, Kobo, Sony, JBL, JB, Libre, so many choices, so little money I have learned so much in the short while I have been lurking on the site. Thanks all, and I will ask more questions when I get closer to pulling the trigger on an actual purchase. John, in Edmonton, Alberta Canada |

Sorry John, we're not allowing any more Canadians to join until you stop sending those damn Alberta Clippers down here.
Shoot, I didn't think you'd fall for that one. Anyway, I'm in Northern England at the moment so you get a free pass. And welcome to MobileRead. Sounds like you and MR are made for each other. Be sure and let us know what device you finally buy. I've had a Sony 505 for over two and a half years now and really like it. |
