Das findest Du positiv? Ich glaube kaum, dass B&N deutsche eBooks im Angebot hat. Für den amerikanischen Marlt ist das klasse, aber für den deutschen bleibt wieder mal nix übrig. Und das mit einem Reader, der in Deutschland gefertigt wird.

Ja klar. Da hast Du natürlich Recht! Sorry, hatte das jetzt gerade nicht so mit der deutschen Brille gesehen, da ich auch nicht recht viele deutsche Bücher lese. Ausserdem heisst das ja gar nix: So lange der Adobe SDK läuft, können auch deutsche Bücher auf dem Reader gelesen werden!

Wenn das so weitergeht, hat irgendwann tatsächlich jede Vertriebskette ihren eigenen Reader ... war eigentlich nicht im Sinne des Erfinders, denn dadurch sind schnell die Voraussetzungen gegeben, per Kunden-ID oder spezielle Software an diesen einen Anbieter gebunden zu werden.

Vor allem, wenn wie bei B&N der Anbieter im Ausland sitzt und man dann vielleicht nicht einmal an den Reader kommt. Hätte man das bei Videorecordern oder DVD-Playern versucht, hätte sich die Technik nie durchgesetzt.

Wenn jetzt noch die Mobilfunk-Anbieter mit "Ihren" Readern kommen, wird es langsam unübersichtlich. Kann man sich auf ein Format einigen? Ich schlage e-book 2000 vor.
