BookDesigner help please

I am sorry if this is not the right place to ask this. I have a very slow internet service and so cannot look through all the pages to find the answer.

I am using BookDesgner 5 to format my books to lrf for my Sony PRS-505. I have been happily using this with Windows 7 but now have been forced to upgrade to Windows 10. I have installed BookDesigner but when I load one of my Word rtf files (always used previously) I get an error when it gets to the 'making basic transformations' stage saying that the transformation has failed.

Can anyone help please? I know this is old software but I love the lrf as it gives a proper page number relating to the screen and so do not want to go to epub.

Use docx -> Calibre -> epub2
epub2 -> Calibre -> lrf

Thank you very much for your help. I have managed to get BookDesigner to work by giving full permissions to the BookDesigner folder.
