ebook Mall compatibility?

Hi,

Does anyone know if ebookMall books (http://www.ebookmall.com/) are compatible with the kindle? If you search "kindle", you get a list of large print books in mobi format, but there are no directions specifically for the kindle.

Thanks,

k4k

If you click on the Mobipocket format link, you will see that each book specifically says compatible with Kindle.

cheers

It looks to me like only a few books from there are Kindle-compatible. Most of the large print books were available free a while back.

If it is mobi format and there is no DRM (copy protection) it is Kindle compatible. If there is DRM it is not Kindle compatible, unless you are 'creative'.

To load a DRM-free mobi book onto your Kindle is simple. First, you download it to your PC/Mac. Then connect your Kindle to the machine using your USB cable. Now open up your file explorer. On Windows, hold down the window key (near the space bar) and type E to get the file explorer. Navigate to the file you downloaded and copy it. Now navigate to your Kindle. It should look like an external drive or a flash drive named Kindle. Open the kindle and open its documents folder. Paste the copied book to that folder. Safely disconnect your Kindle and you are done.

Well, I emailed and asked. It seems DRM prevents most of them from being read on the Kindle. Only those large print books are available. So that answers that!

I have to wonder if the book reviews on this site are phony. I recently saw an ad soliciting book reviewers (see this ad below). The ad read that book reviewers are to review 50-100 books per day. They are instructed to give 3 to 5 stars for a review. One or two stars (poor or fair) is not allowed.

The reviewer is given a list of sites to "research" the book. The reviewer quickly scans information ABOUT the book. The reviewer is never asked to actually READ the book. The reviewer works 8 hours per days. If you do the math, this would mean that an enitre review is researched and written in less than 9 minutes.

The ad for reviewers appeared on the website www.peopleperhour.com. This is how it reads:

"We are looking for multiple freelancers interested in writing short book reviews for us on a weekly basis. Reviews should between 80-150 words and you need to post them on our website at the corresponding bookpage, including clicking a 3-5 start ranking for the book.

We will provide excel sheet with links to bookpages, you just have to research the book and write a short review.
We need approx. 50-100 reviews per day per person which should take you approx. 8 hours per day."
