You Know Your Gadget Is Mainstream When...
...someone you don't know stops you and asks you to compare walking while reading an eReader to walking while reading a book.
Has anyone else found a reason to feel mainstream at last? |

I think I'll consider it "mainstream" when people pester me about what book I'm reading, rather than about the device I'm using to read with. |

How about seeing an e-book reader on QVC just before Christmas?

That probably goes to illustrate the cultural difference between different countries. In Britain, to approach a total strange on the street, and talk to them (unless you wanted to ask directions, or something like that) would be utterly unthinkable. People just don't do it. Ever.

when is it in the mainstream? as I used at another place on this site week before last; the security people at the gate use "any electronic device larger than a Kindle" when describing what must be taken out of your carry on luggage to be closely inspected
