Oasis - What do you think
That "price starting at $289.99" cooled my jets. I knew it wouldn't be cheaper, but I still feel like I was taken on the Voyage.

Nice, but I wouldn't pay more than $179 for it. I'll stick with my PaperWhite 2.

For one thing I do not like the physical buttons. Second toooo expensive for really nothing new but the design, and the battery case. Third I already have a voyage, and a PW2 that works great.

I'm disappointed, but only because my expectations were quite high. I'm not tempted. From what I read, the Voyage seems to be the better option and the Paperwhite 3 an absolute steal. I'm astounded that TTS has not re-appeared given Amazon's current difficulties with accessibility. Even no speaker but bluetooth would not have surprised me, especially considering the Echo, Dot etc. In the same vane I would have expected font improvements. The blurb makes some vague claims about fonts, but I'm not clear on exactly what the claims mean. Given that the display is the same as the Voyage and Paperwhite 3 I and the implementation of fonts in software I doubt that fonts on this device are any more readable or customisable than those on the older devices.
I am glad I bought the Voyage when I did. I hope that in a years time we may finally see a Liquavista display and TTS. I hope that Amazon will implement more control over fonts before then. |

Not for me at all. I don't like that the page buttons are on only one side. And there is no obvious improvement or even change in the screen or reading interface. The extra lights "fix" something that is not a problem for me. The extra battery life does not interest me. I'm happy with the long Voyage and Paperwhite battery life. (I own both)
For me, my perfect ereader would be a Voyage with a larger screen, I have a 6.8" and that is perfect. I'd also like it to be waterproof because I buy bulky annoying waterproof cases for my ereaders and it would be nice not to need such a case. Also, two software improvements would be perfect for me. One is a better translate function that will translate from Latin and Greek which are used in many books that I read. The other software improvement would be an ability to highlight and search with Google (or Yahoo, Bing, etc.) A 6.8" waterproof Voyage with Latin/Greek translation and Google search. I would buy that today. |

Price is way too high for an e-reader. People complained about the Voyage price! Yes, I understand it includes a charging cover, but please, $300 for an e-reader? They need to offer this without the cover for maybe $140 or less to get my attention. Otherwise, I am perfectly happy with my Paperwhite.
