Problem with Sony Reader PRS-700
I have had my Reader for 4 months. Use it everyday.
I tried turning on last night, and the screen was blank. It had a full charge. The red light, that normally is lit when you power up, is now a fast blinking orange. I tried the reset button on the back. No Joy!! Is there anyone that experienced the same problem?? |

The same thing is happening to me. I am going to use my wall charger and let it charge overnight.

Used my 700 this AM with no problems. Now it seems the screen has shifted about 50% to the right. I do get a battery charge indicator when on the USB. Tried a soft reset several times. The hard reset (back button and + volume button) doesn't do a thing. Planning to charge it overnight. Ideas?

Had to mail the 700 back to Sony for a replacement. Am told it can take up to 14 days to get a replacement. I thought my warranty promised faster service?

But 700s aren't produced anymore. So they might not be in stock.

When I returned my 700 last month, battery problem, I was hoping they'd simply send me a 600; no such luck though - they sent me a refurbished 700.
One thing I can say is that since receiving my replacement unit, I haven't had any issues with the battery holding a charge. |

700 replacement
How long did it take to get the replacement Treven? Lots of fun having to read my current book at the computer as I wait for my replacement 700...

Then, after about 10 days, I got an e-mail from Loredo saying they had received my unit. Later the same day (a Friday) I got another e-mail from Loredo saying they had shipped my replacement. I received my replacement the following Wednesday. So if it hadn't been for the local UPS store I'd say a week is a reasonable turn around time. |

UPS delivered the 700 to Laredo TX last Friday AM. Was told Tuesday I would receive a replacement unit. Now I am told there are no more 700s, and the 600 is on back order. They now intend to repair the screen. Looking at another four or five work days for this.
