Umbstaetter, H D: The Red-Hot Dollar (1911); v1, 25 May 2022
A dozen short stories from the literary magazine "The Black Cat", a Boston publication edited by the author from 1896 to his death in 1922. There is a introduction by Jack London. One story is co-authored by T F Anderson, who was an occasional contributor to "The Black Cat" in the 1890s, but nothing else is known of him.
i have added the issues of "The Black Cat" in which the stories were first published, and any pseudonym the author used. The most common was Harold Kinsabby, the surname surely being slyly reminiscent of "Quien Sabe", "who knows?" Introduction 1: The Red -Hot Dollar 2: The Unturned Trump 3: The Real Thing 4: When the Cuckoo Called 5: One Chance in a Million 6: Doodle's Discovery 7: Kootchie 8: Her Eyes, Your Honor 9: For the Sake of Toodleums 10: In Hell's Canon 11: The Mystery of the Thirty Millions 12: Asleep at Lone Mountain This work is assumed to be in the Life+70 public domain OR the copyright holder has given specific permission for distribution.
