Can anyone tell me why Calibre works on 4.80 like a charm and when I updated to 4.83
I am able to get the main page but cannot fetch news as nothing happens when I try for specific newspapers or periodicals that worked on the 4.80 edition?
Also, is it possible to get back versions on the Calibre website such as 4.80. At least if one has a working edition of the Calibre, and then tries to update to a new edition and it does not work, they can always go back to the edition that works..

Thanks in advance for any assistance.. I love the program and have used it every day and now I am stuck without and periodicals to read..

I dont keep old versions, its too much work for me to maintain them. When you say nothing happens, what do you mean? Does the hourglass not start spinning?

The hour glass spins but there is no download of the periodical.

click on the hourglass and then double click on the job and post the log here (wait for at least 10 minutes after starting the download before doing this to ensure that the process is really hung).

Hmm start a command prompt (press windows key + r and type cmd.exe). AT the command prompt type:

I'm using 0.4.83 and Newsweek worked fine here. I'm using Windows with XP Pro.

Usage: feeds2lrf [options] ARG

feeds2lrf parses an online source of articles, like an RSS or ATOM feed and
fetches the article contents organized in a nice hierarchy.

ARG can be one of:

file name - feeds2lrf will try to load a recipe from the file

builtin recipe title - feeds2lrf will load the builtin recipe and use it to fetc
h the feed. For e.g. Newsweek or "The BBC" or "The New York Times"

recipe as a string - feeds2lrf will load the recipe directly from the string a
rg.

Available builtin recipes are:
'Ars Technica', 'Associated Press', 'The Atlantic', u'The BBC', "Barron's", 'Bus

Whenever you pass arguments to feeds2lrf that have spaces in them, enclose the a
rguments in quotation marks.

Try again with two dashes ('--' vs. '-') before the 'verbose'. So exactly like:

Looks like the new proxy detection code is failing on your machine. Do you have a proxy setup needed to access the internet from your machine?

Is your internet connection a direct connection to the web or is it via a proxy?
