Recipe request - The Economist - Search

The Economist magazine use to have a nice rss page for search topics but they did away with that a couple years ago. Now, they only have a rss page for The Print Edition and Blogs.

I was wondering if someone can create a rss page from their search page sorted by date?

For example if I want to use the term "New Zealand"
, the url would be this.

https://www.economist.com/search?q=n...land&sort=date

https://www.economist.com/search?q=new zealand&sort=date&page=1
https://www.economist.com/search?q=new zealand&sort=date&page=2
https://www.economist.com/search?q=new zealand&sort=date&page=3

https://www.economist.com/search?q=n...rt=date&page=2
https://www.economist.com/search?q=n...rt=date&page=3

I listed several sample URL links because I don't know which URL would get the most articles.

Can we add two or more topics on 1 recipe separated by tabs?

Hello,

I uploaded an economist search recipe using the term "ChatGPT" and was able to get the titles but don't know how to fetch the "Full" article. Anybody willing to take a crack at this? Thanks and would be very much appreciated if it is possible!

Hello, the recipe shows that you need a login? Is that true? Just trying to determine why it doesn't work for me since I don't have a login. Thanks!

I managed to acquire a login and it still doesn't work. The only thing I changed according to the instructions is the username

search = self.username.replace('chatgpt', '+')

don't edit the code.. just type your search term in the username field in fetch news section after loading the recipe.

Wow, it works!!! Thank you very much!!! This is a great feature!! I changed the sort order in the code to 'date' rather than 'revelance' which makes more sense to me. Again, thanks again!!

Have you ever used subscription based recipes!

after loading the recipe to custom sources, go to fetch news, select the recipe. You'll see Account (required) on the right side, type your search in the Username field there and download.

This recipe doesn't fetch the full article anymore. Maybe only 1 paragraph.

I noticed this on The Economist main rss feed too.

All the links only fetches the first paragraph of a news article.

Tried the new recipe. Edited the search options on line 226 for text search, line 231 for sort and line 236 for number of pages. Works well. Thank you!
