Issues with Customizing Kindle Fonts on the New Kindle Scribe
Hi everyone,
I recently got a Kindle Scribe and love the device's note-taking features and the new pen capabilities. However, I'm having some trouble customizing the fonts in my ebooks. I've tried a few methods that worked on my older Kindle models, but they don't seem to apply here. Specifically, I'm interested in adding custom fonts that I can use while reading, not just for annotations.
Looking forward to hearing your experiences and any solutions you've found. Thanks in advance for your help. Elena |

The Scribe is no different than other Kindles when it comes to installing custom fonts. |

Connect your Scribe to a computer. Put your fonts into \fonts\ directory. It's best to use both Italic and regular font families together, but it's not needed. In case of missing Italic family Kindle will generate a generic italic out of the custom font. There's a Readme.txt file in that folder that further explains the process.
Then open a book. Tap top area. "Aa" — Font — Font family. You should see your custom fonts there. If they're not there, first try restarting your device. Hold power button until 'power' option appears, then select 'restart'. If they're still not visible, there may be something to do with the format your books are in, or with your fonts. |

Adding fonts has been an official feature since way back in 2018 with firmware 5.9.6. Ignore any old guides on older firmware that involve jailbreaking, etc. It's as simple to add fonts as it is to copy ebooks over. Just put them in the fonts folder on the Kindle.
