Killed my Icarus Illumia E653 Pearl
Hi everyone, like many others i seemed to have killed my Icarus by flashing it needlessly. Used the update file in the android developers corner which killed all touchscreen controls. Got an offical update.zip from Icarus but cant press the screen to enable the update. Tried Various Boyue firmwares flashing through RC batch tool but still no touchscreen.....
After reading the forums for hours I see someone was able to flash the boot.img from the update.zip which fixed it, but i cant seem to do that thro the RC batch tool so..... please please please could anyone either provide the original system image or advise how to flash the boot.img ? Great thanks in advance! |

First, it's not possible to brick those devices by flashing a firmware.
You can find firmware for all Boyue devices, https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=265289 Latest is the 160620 one. There is firmware for T61C if that is your model. You have to flash through a computer obviously, see http://radxa.com/Rock/flash_the_image I use both upgrade_tool and rkflashtool on Linux (I don't use Windows at all), both work fine. |

thanks for that, its now kinda working, just running with Boyue t61 firmware as opposed to the correct iccarus firmware. Everytime i try to update using that it dies in the update process

Use FOV's C67 adaptation for T61C pearl.

thats great, im concerned flashing that will end up bringing back to the initial problem of the touchscreen not working after the flash however!

This problem was related to a wrong firmware.
I know of two different Icarus Illumia E653 devices, one with carta screen and one with pearl screen. Flashing the carta ROM on the pearl device and vice versa is creating touchscreen problems. The ROM from FOV I saw is for the pearl device. But flashing the wrong FOV ROM shouldn't be a problem, since ADB and Root are activated in the ROM. So booting into bootloader( adb reboot-bootloader ) should work in case something goes wrong and you don't know the key combination on the device to boot in bootloader mode. |
